5x0x Series, Medical Dry X-ray Imaging Clear Blue Base Thermal Film

Medical dry x-ray imaging clear thermal film (DAF) is coated with colorless heat-sensitive capsules on a 175-µm polyester blue base support and covered with a top protective layer for resistance to scratches and moisture. Offering the excellent image reproduction capabilities and superior visibility of fine detail, the film delivers the precision and consistency radiographers demand to make accurate diagnostic readings. It can support a maximum density between 3.0D and 4.2D when used with some 508-dpi dry thermal imager. Its heat-sensitive characteristics make daylight handling effortless in daily operations, turning darkroom, time-consuming adjustments, wet system, cleaning procedures, and chemical disposal into a fairy tale. Image processing is generated more quickly, more conveniently, and more environmentally friendly.

Film Formation

Based on the advanced Direct Dry Microcapsule-heating Imaging Technology, the film consists of the following layers from top to bottom: a protective layer containing lubricants, pigments and adhesives as the main components, a thermal imaging layer including colorless dyes and developers, blue transparent PET base, and a back-coat layer with matting agents and antistatic agents.

Intelligent Identification

The film comes 100 sheets per white box with a smart RFID label, 5 boxes per pack. The RFID label is sticked on the surface of a film cardboard placed at the bottom of daylight-packaged film sheets, to be identified by the RFID reader inside “5x0x Series” Imagers.

Manual Image Density Calibration (MFDC)

The film, system-matched with “5x0x Series” Dry Imagers, shows a maximum film density of 2.8D after the Manual Image Density Calibration (MFDC) with imagers’ built-in density meter. This one-click preset quality control is activated by menu keys without further operation intervention to provide subsequent efficient throughput.

Tailor-made Hardness

When a film with low thermal imaging temperature is heated in a high direct-heat imager, the adhesives in the protective layer and the imaging layer will be softened to lose their hardness. When the soft coating is in contact with the print head, the friction contact area will be increased, resulting in greater friction resistance. On the one hand, the increased friction resistance will accelerate the wear rate of the print head; on the other hand, it will in turn further destroy the surface coating of the film, resulting in secondary foreign matter. The resulting foreign body in the subsequent continuous printing will produce uneven hard points to scratch the thermal print head. The thermal film (A), adopting the adhesive with high glass point and adding the appropriate lubricant, can overcome the above problems and maintain the normal life of the print head. In addition, the film’s protective layer removes foreign substances that adhere to the head during printing.

Diverse Imaging Scenario

To ensure highly consistent image contrast, the film produces a wide dynamic range of distinct black-tone images from various devices such as Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM), Computed Tomography (CT), Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Radiography (CR), and Digital Radiography (DR).
